Corporate Volunteering

Put on your oldest clothes, kit up in steel toecap boots, hard hat, goggles and gloves (which we provide), roll up your sleeves and help build alongside Habitat for Humanity Homepartners in Southwark and Liverpool. Get to know them, and see for yourself the difference that Habitat for Humanity makes!

Southwark

“Star of India”, an old pub in Southwark, central London, is being renovated by Habitat for Humanity to form 12 flats/studios for Habitat for Humanity Homeowners and the local housing association. There is a real lack of homes for those on low incomes in the area, and the local housing associations themselves struggle for housing stock, and this programme goes some way to solve the issue. Other projects will be developed soon.

The Team

Liverpool

Granby/Toxteth in Liverpool is one of the most deprived areas in Western Europe. It is also one of the most culturally diverse communities in the UK and includes representatives from 54 commonwealth countries. Liverpool Habitat for Humanity was generously donated 2.2 acres of land by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. 32 homes will be built on the site. The first three homes were completed in autumn 2007 and the second phase of building is currently underway.

COSTS
Liverpool Habitat for Humanity's requested corporate team build donation is £100 per person per day, which is now standard practice amongst Habitat for Humanity sites in the UK. The cost covers lunch & refreshments, a donation towards building materials & full PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) supplied to each individual.
