South Africa

Building hope, building homes

Claudia Meyer-Scott went to KwaXimba in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa with a team of colleagues from Reuters .

"I had the most fulfilling and amazing experience of my life. I really did not know what to expect, although I had spoken to a few people who had been before I did not think that I could feel so much a part of a completely different community.

"From the moment we started the foundations of the house and met the family and local helpers until we said goodbye on the Friday afternoon I felt full of enthusiasm . We bonded as a group and it was great to make friends with likeminded people. So thanks to Habitat for Humanity for giving me the best experience of my life."

Claudia is exploring being a team leader on future challenges and is also telling others about our work.
