Poverty housing is “The Mark” of poverty. No other issue expresses a family’s poverty more clearly than the place they call home.

If you live in a shack made from bits of old cardboard, rubbish and scavenged material you get wet when it rains and your children are cold at night. You are vulnerable to eviction and infection.

A home with a poorly constructed straw roof and mud walls can become infested with insects that bite your children at night and spread disease.

There are 1.6 billion people in the world that live like this. But you can help by registering to be a HOPE Builder. The average cost of a decent, healthy home in the developing world is just £1,235.

This is your challenge: Join with others in the industry and help to raise as many multiples of £1,235 as you can.

How you can become a HOPE Builder:

  1. Decide how many homes you can build.
  2. Register to be a HOPE Builder.
  3. Decide if you want to register as an individual or a team.
  4. You can donate it, give monthly or raise it.
  5. Get your team, colleagues, family, suppliers and subcontractors involved.
