What to expect

Team members do not need any building skills and supervisors will show you how to build. You could be digging foundations, laying bricks, painting, mixing mortar, moving materials perhaps even putting a roof on. Team members will only need to do what they feel comfortable doing.
The work is physically demanding, but physical disability or a medical condition should not prevent you from taking part. If there is likely to be a problem we can give you advice. Given the nature of building work and accessibility issues in undeveloped countries, people with limited mobility should discuss their needs with the Volunteer Teams Co-ordinator.
The one thing we can guarantee is that the experience of building a house as part of the Global Village programme will strengthen and build your group and individual relationships, deepening your mutual trust and friendship. More about benefits.
We welcome applicants aged 18 years, or over. If you are aged 16 or 17 you may apply, but you will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
