Bon Jovi tickets in Habitat for Humanity eBay auction.
Bon Jovi, one of the world's greatest live rock bands, will open Europe's greatest new venue, The O2 on Sunday 24 June. In their only appearance of 2007, this is the first time the band will have played indoors in the UK for many years.
This much awaited concert sold out within hours, but Jon Bon Jovi, as Global Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity, an international charity dedicated to eliminating poverty housing worldwide, has donated concert tickets to Habitat for Humanity Great Britain to auction; with all proceeds going to support Habitat for Humanity Great Britain's work across the world.
Jon Bon Jovi's support for Habitat for Humanity began in 2005 when he provided the funds to build six homes in Philadelphia and worked to build the homes with the homeowner families. Since then Bon Jovi has been involved in supporting Habitat for Humanity's work across America and in South Africa.
One pair of concert tickets will be auctioned on eBay. Bidding will begin at 15:57pm, UK time on Thursday 31 May and end at 15:57 pm, UK time on Sunday 10 June and all proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity Great Britain's work. Habitat for Humanity hope the auction will raise a significant amount. If the tickets sold for £1235 this would be enough to enable a family living in poverty in a developing country to build their own simple, decent home.
Ian Walkden, National Director of Habitat for Humanity Great Britain said: "Everyone deserves a decent place to live. A safe affordable home is a basic human right, yet around 1 in 3 of the world's population live in poorly built and overcrowded housing and a further 100 million people are homeless. Habitat for Humanity works with impoverished people across the world to help them build simple, decent, and safe low-cost homes. Donations like this will help to fund this vital work. We hope Bon Jovi fans will get behind this auction so that it is a great success."
