Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon
Following the huge success of this amazing event over the last two years we will again be entering a team in 2010. This year's race will take place on 10th October and if you would like to run for Habitat for Humanity then please contact Andy at abarton@habitatforhumanity.org.uk or call the office on 01295 264240.
On October 11th 2009 a team of 34 runners competed in the second Royal Parks Half Marathon in London. This was a fantastic event, starting and finishing in Hyde Park and winding through four of London's most beautiful green spaces as well as past landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and the Royal Albert Hall. Around 15,000 runners participated, the majority of whom were running for their chosen charity, and the event is expected to raise more than £2 million over all.
Many thanks to all who ran for Habitat for Humanity, and to all those who sponsored them. Here’s what a couple of our runners had to say afterwards, once they had caught their breathe!
“I had a wonderful time at the race... this was the first time I had run a race for a charity and it has heightened my appreciation for the work done by Habitat for Humanity” – Brian Lutz
“It was lovely to see you guys dotted around the race course and the support makes such a difference when you are running, thank you very much.” – Sophie Deen
