Miller Homes Employee Brings Hope Through Marathon Effort

Over the course of the year Miller Homes has pledged to raise £100,000 for our Hope Builders campaign, enough to build over 30 homes and make a real difference to those living in poverty housing.

As part of this pledge, Miller Homes Contracts Manager, David Graziano put his best foot forward and completed the London Marathon in just over four hours whilst raising more than £2,500 towards the company’s target.

As a keen athlete, Dave, 44, from Hyde in Cheshire has participated in a number of long distant runs and managed to complete the gruelling 26.2 mile challenge in an impressive 4 hours 5 minutes.

Dave commented: “Running the London Marathon has been a lifetime ambition of mine, to do it for such a great cause is a real honour. Although it was a tough challenge, it was also an incredible experience and one that I will never forget. The encouragement by means of support and donations helped motivate me through some tough training and helped me cross the finishing line on the day.”

Chris Endsor, Chief Executive of Miller Homes, said: “We are very proud of Dave for completing the London Marathon on behalf of Habitat for Humanity. Dave completed the 26.2 mile run in a fantastic time and has raised a tremendous amount for the charity.

It is a fantastic charity that makes a massive difference to people’s lives. Having a safe, decent place to live is something many of us take for granted and we are in the privileged position of having the resources, skills and expertise to build high quality homes for many families to live and prosper in the UK.”

Our Head of Volunteering, Manuela Campbell, added: “By partnering with Habitat for Humanity, Miller Homes is showing a real commitment to ending poverty housing across the world.  We are immensely grateful for their support and delighted to be working in partnership with them.”
