Jimmy Carter – Honouring A Life of Service

It is with deep sadness that we learn of the death of Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the USA.

Henrietta Blackmore, National Director, Habitat for Humanity Great Britain said, “Everyone at Habitat for Humanity GB offers their deepest condolences to the Carter family at this time of great personal loss, and their thanks for President Carter’s contribution and leadership.”

For more than 40 years, the former President was a most dedicated partner and active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. We have been privileged to enjoy his support, most significantly through the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project.

President Carter saw firsthand the effects that a lack of affordable housing has and understood that, to ensure the greatest success, families need a stable, affordable foundation to grow.
