Join Our Global Village

Global Village is our overseas volunteering programme, offering partners the chance to volunteer for 8-10 days in teams of 15-50 employees. You’ll spend five days building a home on site alongside the local community, bookended by welcome and farewell ceremonies – an unforgettable shared experience.

Take a turn in our Upcycling Workshop

Only 2% of UK social housing comes furnished, leaving residents already facing hardship struggling to afford essentials like a bed, fridge or wardrobe. Our Upcycling Workshops rescue furniture destined for landfill, transforming it into high-quality items for our properties and community members in need.

At our Romford ReStore, you’ll work in small groups sanding, painting and varnishing items – tailored to your skill level, in full (6-hour) or half (3-hour) days. No experience required!

Help us light up the future!

Household textiles account for almost half (42%) of the 900,000 tonnes of textile waste sent to UK landfill every year. Join our Lampshade Making Workshops to help change that!

In this hands-on creative session, you’ll craft a bespoke lampshade from deadstock fabrics, learning sustainable design techniques while diverting materials from landfill. Sessions run for 2 hours at our Romford ReStore or your office.

Support our Christmas Pop-up Shop!

Each December, our Christmas Pop-Up Shop at ReStore sells highly-discounted donated toys, gifts and decorations to local community members in Havering who need it most – making Christmas affordable while reducing waste.

Your volunteer team will work alongside our staff sorting, cleaning, testing and pricing toys, setting up displays and more – helping everyone celebrate Christmas with joy and hope!

What our corporate volunteers say

A fantastic organisation addressing a very real issue — these days provide an opportunity to create a tangible product that will be actively used by the people the charity supports. It is a great way for teams of volunteers to do something meaningful in a short space of time, with a brilliant group of representatives from Habitat for Humanity.

Next to having my children, it was the best thing I have ever done! Everyone — team leaders, site workers, the families, the Aon team — were exceptional. It was like a little community: everyone looked out for each other and did their absolute best in the short time we had.

Habitat’s purpose was very well explained and helped ground everyone as to why we were there and the difference our small contribution could make. Finding a way to give our time can be hard to put into practise — you brought us together as a group, and we all delivered something that made a real difference.

The booking experience and the volunteering day went absolutely seamlessly. We had a fantastic time, came away with a great experience and definitely much stronger as a team. Thank you again for all the great work you do for the communities.
