A commitment by leading housebuilder Miller Homes
By committing to raise £100,000 through Hope Challenge, Miller Homes will lay the foundations for the building of over 30 new ‘Habitat Homes’. As a result, these homes will help to lift many people out of poverty housing.
The company is the first major housebuilder to pledge its support to the re-launched campaign, Hope Challenge. The Home Builders Federation are supporting the campaign and aim to give those living in poverty housing a safe, decent place to call home. To kick-start its fundraising, Miller Homes has donated £30,000 to the campaign.
Chris Endsor, Chief Executive of Miller Homes, said: “We are delighted to put our weight behind Habitat for Humanity GB’s Hope Builders Campaign during 2016.” He went on to say, “Having a safe, decent place to live is something many of us take for granted and we are in the privileged position of having the resources, skills and expertise to build high quality homes for many families to live and prosper in the UK.”

Chris Endsor says that he recognises the importance for all families. No matter where they are in the world. Of having a place to feel safe, secure and to build a future. By supporting this campaign, Miller Homes have a fantastic opportunity to use their resources, enthusiasm and determination to make a real difference.
The average cost of a Habitat Home is currently £3,000. And companies are being encouraged to join a story that will unlock the power of home for generations to come.
“Throughout the year we will put our commitment into action, by organising a number of fundraising events and activities. This gives a member of our team the opportunity to take part in next year’s London Marathon. It also enabling a team of Miller Homes employees to participate in a Global Village trip. We hope the money we raise will be enough to build over 30 homes. We hope it will make a real difference to those stuck in the cycle of poverty housing.” -Chris Ensor
Meryl Davies, Chief Executive of Habitat for Humanity, commented: “By partnering with Habitat for Humanity, Miller Homes is showing a real commitment to ending poverty housing across the world. We are immensely grateful for their support and delighted to be working in partnership with them as our newest Hope Builder. We hope other housebuilders will follow their example and get behind our campaign.”
