Our Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring that Habitat for Humanity GB is managed in line with our vision and mission, that we abide by our charitable objectives, and that we are compliant with legal and statutory requirements. They are also inspirational leaders with exceptional knowledge of key areas of our work.

Holly Carter

Dr. Holly Carter is the first Executive Director and Dean of Harlaxton College. She has undergraduate degrees in French and social work, a master’s degree in social work, has a MPhil from the University of Glasgow and a PGCHE from the University of Surrey Roehampton, an MPH with a focus in community health from North Texas Health Science Center, as well as a PhD from the University of North Texas. Dr. Carter’s academic field is medical sociology.

Heather Alner

Heather Alner is the Interim Area Vice President for Europe and the Middle East at Habitat for Humanity International responsible for strategy and impact. Prior to this, Heather was the Resource Development Senior Director for Habitat for Humanity International, responsible for the overall success of Habitat’s fundraising activities in dozens of countries throughout Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Heather develops and executes on strategies for growth which sees revenue of $50m+ a year, with personal fundraising goals of $12m - from companies and individuals. She is also a board director for Habitat for Humanity Netherlands where she supports their own fundraising goals and strategy. Heather started with Habitat in 2008 as a Donor Care officer in the Resource Development team, moving her way up to this current position.
