We work with low-income families that are without a safe place to call home. The "Housing First" programme prepares homeless people living on the streets to live a self-reliant life. In addition, Habitat for Humanity Hungary have worked tirelessly to support refugees arriving into the country that fled the war in Ukraine.
About 33% of Hungary’s population is challenged by the threat of poverty and social marginalisation. While the number of the poor grows constantly, incomes are further polarising. Housing costs are an ever growing burden for families.
Since the outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022, Habitat for Humanity have been supporting refugees arriving into neighbouring countries. Find out more about our response and how you can support our work here.
