Habitat for Humanity on the Radio

Premier Radio

On Tuesday 13 October, David Clare took part in an interview for Premier Radio. David is Habitat for Humanity GB Homes’ Business Development Manager.

The show, Woman to Woman exists because it is important to inform, discuss, and come up with solutions facing women globally.  On the show, David discussed the topic of housing and vulnerable women with the host, exploring how the former can give real and lasting hope to the latter.

We are supporting vulnerable women in Great Britain through our Empty Spaces to Homes projects. We work in partnership with Fife Women’s Aid and Housing for Women to support women fleeing domestic violence in need of safe shelter.

Supporting Women Around the World

In addition to supporting women in Great Britain, we also support women overseas through a number of projects. In order to secure safe and decent housing for all, gender discrimination and inequalities must be tackled. Women are often the head of the household, and it is vital that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to run their household and make informed decisions.

Projects we work on to support women include:

Lang Rights Training and Financial Inclusion Training

Tackling Gender Discrimination in Slums and Informal Settlements

Constructing Secure, Clean and Lockable Toilets

Women Build – Global Village Volunteer Builds
